NGC4565 - also known as the Needle Galaxy is a spiral galaxy
oriented nearly edge-on as seen from earth and is located in
the constellation Coma Berenices. NGC4565 is very similar in
size and mass to our galaxy, The Milky Way and at a distance
of 32.6 million light years from earth gives a good approximation
of the appearance of an edge-on view of our galaxy from an equal
distance.
